Christmas is gone and on to the new year...

Wow, been over a month again... sometimes I get busy I guess. This Christmas seemed to be a very fast roller coaster and we just flew through it. Started out with the weekend before the last week of School.. the flu got me, then it got James but did not get our Gwyn. She had a Christmas concert at school and I kept waiting for the flu to hit her all week! It never did. She made it. But the Friday after the late night Christmas concert and the early morning pj day at school, she came home with a nose that would not stop running.. still hasn't.
I did my Christmas sewing on the weekend we had the flu.. because it was to the point that if I didn't get doing it it would not get done.. and I made 7 pair of PJ pants while feeling the remnants of the flu. I also had knitting and crochet to finish up... and managed to make it.. Let me tell ya I was sweating this year though.. next year has to be done earlier!!!
Anyways, after the Christmas concert. There was Christmas with one side of the family Saturday night, then off to the city on the Sunday. Monday was some kinda fricken wicked cold but we had to get out and find my girl a new pair of boots and a coat. Who would think that a kid would grow in the middle of December and need a new set? Obviously not the stores who had very little left. We managed to find boots she LOVES and a whole set She LOVES downtown in the city. Boots from Sears and Snowsuit from my least favorite store, The Bay. But that's where it fit and that is where we didn't have to saw our arms and legs off for it and the Lady at the counter was actually AMAZING! I fear she won't last long there... she wasn't near bitchy enough. Anyway, we got her outfitted.
Then we had Christmas on Christmas. Boxing Day we had another Christmas get together. Then home again.
I honestly have felt sucked out and worn out since we got home. So tired I didn't unpack until the day after we got home. Then cleared or tried to clear the table the following day. The house still looks like a bomb went off in here. Still tired. We went for groceries in our little bit smaller city yesterday. Pooped from that too. Though I have been knitting/crocheting up some neat stuff. I will show you pics... at the end of this post.
And Today we have New Years Eve. I hope to hell that 2014 is a better year. 2013 has not been all that kind. I must say My Girl has been amazing, and been doing fantastic things. I have been focusing on that to pull me through. I have  my fingers crossed that she will continue to be amazing and that we can pull ourselves together in 2014 and have a good year to look back on, even if we have a bumpy start. Here hoping you know?
Anyways, nough o that, I promised pics right???
I have a pair of brown men's work socks like the blue ones up there on the needles as well as another Tyrant hat... well.. viking hat if you ask me, but what do I know.. Pics will follow when those are done up too.

So yes, we are all alive and well. And hopeful for a great new year! Talk to you soon! Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas and All The Very Best For the New Year!

Anyways enough o that crap. On to the good stuff!
Gwyn tried dance. But for whatever reason she didn't DO dance so I have pulled her out. It may be that it was just too much in the box for my outta the box girl. My girl will be 5 on Saturday! Oh my!! We are having a gymnastic birthday and I sure hope it goes over well and everyone haas fun!

Dancing

My girl was certainly excited to go to dance today! She had all her stuff gathered up to come off the bus! When she got in the house I reminded her what night it was and she went and stripped down to put her dance outfit on!! Put it on, ready to go at 4:30. Class starts at 5:15. So, 10 min drive to class, leaves 35 min!! So got the mail and drove very sloooow to class.

She loves it! I wondered of she would like it at all... Being she is a mover and a shaker... And it's Ballet/jazz, which I was concerned she would find boring! But she can't wait for next class!! Yay!

More hats! Delivered the bottom one to the recipient this afternoon. The top 2 I am working on. Have fallen in love with the colour way. Kind of bubble gum/cotton candy, pinks, blues and purples!
Anyway, talk to you all later.

Braided Hats

My sister started it. She sent me a picture with a little girl wearing a hat and it had yarn braids! ADORABLE!! Then, had to make one for Missy. So, Miss G. Loves Rainbow Dash. So, denim blue hat with rainbow hair it is! Fantastic!! Then, I made one for her friend that is purple and rainbow hair. Very cute. OMG The one for her friend is a Christmas pressie... sooooooo I have offically begun.
BUT, I have a handful of "I want ones" to make.
And an afghan for my cousin's wedding.

AND
Miss EM!!! I wish, wish wish you could come over to steal a loaf of bread!! LOL

Mittens and cookies

Made cookies this morning to warm up the house. It wasn't cold but was chilly.
Mittens, seaweed mitties. Look good though small. We will see how they fit.

Big, it's big... Big day, big week....

We had our first gymnastic class if the season yesterday. I think it went well. Miss G did most of what she was supposed to. She wavered a bit at the end of class but I think she was just getting that tired by then.

Miss G is the one in the middle with her nose on the floor and the straight legs.

This was me and Bootsy this morning. He was missing missy G and wanting some loving.
Baked bread. Wanted 2 nice big loaves. Well, power went out right at the start of baking so they got extra rise time and are giants!! Delish, but Huge! One slice is the size of a luncheon plate(medium Corelle).
As you an see my buns came out large as well. Missy helped me mix the up, before she went off to bed.

Bitty bunny. Kinda homely, kinda cute.missy likes him and that's what matters. I made him in between bread baking and stuff.

Loving it.(sorry for the repeat)

This is a quick little knit I whipped up. Should have been some mittens, that I was asked to make but, I wasn't feeling mitteny. So here is the neat hat I whipped up. Love the black light colour way(colourful part).

Anyways, I put the blogger app on my phone.... Which is what I am loving! Done sitting at the computer, no problem. Type up the post on the phone while lounging out. Hopefully you will see more posts now!! Miss Em! Lol this is very handy.... Since I have been doing a lot of picture taking with my phone on the fly, it's handy for uploading pictures too.

This pathetic little putty tat, slept most of the day away on Missy's bed. Sad and missing her is my best guess. I moved her books from one side of the room to the other, via the bed, and he was chewing books and biting me for tying up his sleeping spot! Or changing the room... Not sure which.
This one was the other day. I went out to wait for the bus with Gwyn. On the way in, pushed his butt with the door to get in. He was laying against the door. Then when I was in he ran and looked out the window. Like he was watching the bus drive away with little miss. Poor kitty.

He did meet Thump the dwarf bunny today. No blood shed but they had quite the game of tag back and forth. One chase the other then switch and go the other way. Was interesting to watch.

Little miss wants to tap. Sadly,
Not enough local interest this year for it. So, I asked missy and showed her videos of ballet and jazz classes, expecting she would say "too boring". But she said "me, I want to dance!" So, ballet/jazz it is!! Very excited to start! I hope she is not disappointed!!! We went got her a suit and tights and shoes and she had to put them on(less the tights) at home!! Try them out!!! So very excited!!

She will still do gym, then the next night dance! At least dance isn't too much travel! Will have to nab her off the bus, change and run to make it on time though!! Oh well, will do what we can!

If you've made it this far, thank you, for reading :) ttyl

Dancing off to school!

This little kitty, misses Gwyn. Lol he lays behind the door when I go out with Gwyn to get her on the bus. Then on Friday he raced to the window and watched out like he was watching the bus drive away!!
Missy wants to tap. No tap available. But,   A jazz/ballet split is. Mr. J says show her video of that dance and see if she wants to learn that. So, I did. OMG yes, she wants to learn that dance!!! I guess time will tell but she was super excited to go get shoes, tights and a suit. So excited, that when we got home she HAD to put it on. Less the tights for obvious snagging reasons!! But wow, she is excited!

Gymnastics starts Tuesday!!! YAY! And dance on Wednesday. Going to be a crazy week!!

Neck Warmers!

Yes! I have actually been knitting!!! I made 2 neck warmers. I have a cowl finished(sorry no pic yet) that I crocheted in a Crochet Along and I have another Knit Along cowl on the needles!!! I have an afghan started for a wedding gift. I need to make a pair of mitten's to match the bottom neck warmer. Busy needles! LOL Inspired to get something done though.. I do also want to do some sewing.. but will see when I can get to that!!!

Missy G is enjoying school. She was pretty tired this morning but, still made it on the bus in time! LOL Tonight we have her asleep before 9 so tomorrow should be a better day! Though tired is understood.. we are tired too(Daddy and I).

What???? a whole summer no posts??? OH MY!!!

Ok, Miss Em, emailed me today to ask where I went... haha as in, am I still bloggy. Well, OF COURSE! Summer just kinda.. flew... And I do mean FLEW! June with swim lessons was lovely nice. July the weather was crap. I say crap because it was cold and rainy and YUCK. August came along and brought sweltering heat. On my side of it. I put Missy in her swim lessons in June so, she could do her summer program in the city, two morning a week all summer. OMG, I got tired of driving. And I was sharing the driving. But, the kids were in the car longer than they were in the program. Oh well. 2 hours free of kiddle to get grocery shopping done.. Awesome, knowing shewas learning something while she was there.. even better!!! We car pooled with another family which cut back some of the driving but still.. wore me out. Miss G seemed all good with it though, and very much enjoyed whatever it was they did in those 2 hours.
Mid July took Miss G to have her eyes checked. She needed glasses. OH and VISION PROBLEMS CAN CAUSE BORDERLINE HYPERACTIVITY!!! Really? REALLY!! Got the glasses begining of August, what a difference in a matter of days!!!
Isn't she cute?

Anyways, on the last day we decided to hit the beach after the wind up party. Didn't make it. Had some A$$ fly by on the gravel on the way to the beach with a boat and trailer on toss up a stone and shatter my driver side middle passenger window!!!! Never ever seen that before. Scared us, scared the kids. Thank our lucky stars nobody was hurt. $250. later it was fixed by a company that actually called when the window didn't come in, and then again when it did!! Awesome service. Wouldn't have minded missing the expense though.
The glass didn't fall out until we opened the door, but had a not yet 1 year old in that seat.. could have been much worse.
And now, We have a kitten. Miss G has been sleeping in her own bed!!! YAY!! and we got this sweet little boy!

Back to school. Miss G's first 1/2 day of kindergarten.
Tomorrow is her first full day. Yes, she goes 1/2 days on the one day and full on the other until we put her up to full time.. meaning full days both sets of days. I think that day will come sooner than we expected as today, the first day, she left crying. 1. because they missed Pete the Cat. 2. Because she wanted to stay with her friends. She is excited about tomorrow as she will see some of her other friends. And we shall see how she makes out with a full day.

And that is about it. I got miss g registered for gymnastics again.. my little gymnast. She has a chin up bar to play on and a mat and beam. She likes to fiddle on the bar the most. I did look into dance because she wants to tap sooooo bad. But, finance and time are the issues holding that back. I think we are going to have one tired little 4 year old going to school every day full days.. but I am optimistic that she will prove me wrong! LOL

And there you have it in a nutshell!

Hopefully post again soon, before fall is over! Ha! LOL :D
