Catching up!

Ok, so, On the 8th I wandered over to Wynyard to see a good friend. Gwyn got to meet some sheep and Llama. She got to feed a lamb. We saw a chicken and a rooster. We saw a couple geese. A few doggies. Gwyn had a big day and was wonderful. Busy, as usual, but good. We had a good visit :)

Then Saturday we did some playing around home.. Gwyn loves piddling around in the puddles! She tromps about in the water, picks stones.. has fun!

I even got the bubbles out for her to blow some! She love loved blowing bubbles. I finally had to take them away as it was pretty chilly out and I thought we should head in... she wasn't happy about that.. But she certainly had fun while it lasted!!!  The funniest part being she leans down when she is blowing a bubble.. the bigger the bubble the closer to the ground she leans.. LOL very cute!

On Sunday we had her Gymnastics Season Finale! End of the winter session. Gwyn enjoyed! I have registered her for spring, just because it is a wonderful activity and she gets to spend some time with other kids! She got a certificate for her class.. showed us all the things she learned in her classes.... Was nice.

Grandma and Grandpa came out for the finale! I think they enjoyed seeing Gwyn do her stuff!!! And we had them here for 2 whole days! Which was fabulous.. but as always the visit is never near long enough!!! But, Dad had to get back to work...
Gwyn and Daddy had a play with the camera! Are they not the most beautiful pair? Love them both!
I have been working on a crochet turtle blanket. Gwyn has been loving it up! So it is stuffed right full of love!! I hope the little man that receives it loves it half as much as Gwyn did!!! LOL
This, is what we woke up to this morning!!! White, with great big snowflakes falling like rain!! It snowed until at least 2pm. Crazy!!! But it is melting off now.. and slushy mucky out there.. thank goodness!! I hope it doesn't add to the flooding issues they are having down south... not fun!!!

This is the finished turtle blanket. I am very happy with the finished product! It is bright and fun! And yes, I folded it up before Gwyn got to see it done!! LOL

Ahh well, catch ya later!!!

Anonymous Postings

Well, I have some stories to tell.. but, first off  I want to say sorry to those anonymous commenter's. Those of you who are legit, I'm sorry. I was getting far too much crap traffic and had to change the settings.  Now see, if people were decent and didn't put that crap there I would have left it. The bad eggs ruin it for the all. Anyways, I think the most of you should still be able to post a comment. Will talk to you all later, as it is breakfast time in the house now... and I am thinking my girl is hungry!!!

For all you knitting friends....

Insert big sigh of relief ---->here,      here<--- and     --->here......
For fack sake!! I have no luck with my Denise needles... well.. I must have a little.. as I did not have to rip back my whole shawl!!! Ok... Here is what I am talking about....

I am knitting along on my Japanese Garden Shawl... minding my business... watching my pattern... knit knit knit... next thing I know there are stitches and stitch markers everywhere!!! My needle came undone!!! My gosh I thought the damn thing broke.... It didn't so I was able to finish the row...  I was also able to salvage my stitches... I hate trying to find stitches.. but my saving grace was that row 12 was a non pattern row.. HOOORAAAY!! for small mercies! Got it all fixed up and straightened out...  But I so hate those facking needles......

And yes, I realize, row 13 is like baby shawl... but it is lacy and the shawl is knit from the inside out... so 13 very long rows!!!

So, anyone want to buy a set of Denise that are missing one of the smaller cables.. but I bought  1 or 2 of the longer cables.... Maybe.. you would have better luck!!!

insert another sigh of relief... here..

Good night!!

Swim, swim....

Snip, snip, snip...

So, today I went and got my hair cut again.  I got it cut by that wonderful girlie who cut it last time. Just because I love love loved it that much!!! It lasted just over 2 months.. but I should have gone earlier.. LOL Oh well! It looks amazing again.. feels fantastic!!!  I also... got her to wax my brows... I was wavering between brave and chicken.. and I bit the bullet and got her to do it. THAT WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN PLUCKING!!!! She was quick and wonderful. Awesome.

And in crafty news. I have a hat that I started today, almost done(crochet). I have my Japanese Garden shawl on the go yet.. and the turtle affie.  All need some work.. but all are getting there!!

I am off and running.. ttyl

Spring has sprung... and I mean the annual lake in the back yard!!!

Every year with the melt of the snow we get a lake. It never really bothered me much, just meant that we park on the front street when a certain time hits in spring.  Well. that time has come for me. Though James with the truck and blade is still parking in the back. Which is fine as he has frozen ground under the water yet.
In this pic you see the corner of the garage, mud, snow pushed up, neighbors house, our shed, Gwyn's swing set, and a wee peek of our house. This is the mud that had more water in it and Gwyn got stuck in the day before yesterday.
Here you see, our house, James and the truck, tarp garage, Gwyn and the giant lake puddle. The trees  fencing our yard from Irene's next door.

Gwyn stomping around in the mud.

Mush, mush, squish, squash....

Loving being outside.

Swing, swing...

Squish, squash some more.

Where's Da? Gotta find Da.
It has been a year of patchy snow removal. It started pretty good... then I really don't know what happened. Town tractor is down I know that.. so no snow blowing. After our last snowy blowy it took.. 3 days I think before we saw anyone. And it turned out to be a tractor with a blade on it that just kinda pushed stuff around so people were not having as much trouble getting through. The last one they sent was a tractor with a bucket. Not made to push snow. And they had him cleaning up the slush.  WELL.. That led to James heading out to push... He did our block and 2  more to the north. He didn't do the first block... too much traffic, no where to push the slushy snow that was safe and out of the way. So we had 3 good blocks of main street. The grid here is almost dry. And the first block of main was a big slushy mess. So, 2 days of melting and James went out to clean up a little more yesterday afternoon.  It had softened up and melted away so our block was practically dry, but the next two had slushy and rutty again. So, off James went to fix it up some.. Gwyn wanted a ride with dad so.. we went too.. LOL She had been inspecting the blade while her daddy was fixing it... She so wanted to help him!!! LOL Such a daddy's girl.
James snow blade imprint in the snowbanks. Kinda neat. He thought city folk might get a kick out of it.. as they are used to grader ridges. I just think it looks kinda neat....

Take this hunk of snow/ice mom. Where Gwyn? Take it mom... LOL

Not thinking about smooshing about in the water or mud at all....

Turtles and mud....

Well, my turtles are coming along nicely! I am sorry to say I think I grossly overestimated the yarn needed.. but only the finished product will tell for sure... as I am not done.. I can not say for sure.. though I have a sneaking suspicion... They are nice and bright and even pretty.. but don't tell the boys I said that!!!

Gwyn had fun playing in the mud today. I so wanted pics of her out playing, but the camera was inside.  And if you have ever taken a outdoor loving toddler inside from playing.... you know damn well you wouldn't unless it was time!!!

Would you believe I washed this coat... couple days ago?

Just a little muddy :)
She got stuck in the mud. I had told her to come toward me and play in those puddles.. but she ignored me and went for the one further away... So, she sunk down and got stuck. I kept telling her she was OK and to keep wiggling she could do it.. but at last I had to go save her.  She was starting to sound a little stressed so I figured I ought to save her. She played in the puddles a long time after that yet. She sat with her bunnies on the step for a couple minutes(my yard decor, that have been adopted by Gwyn). Then we came in for hot chocolate and a nappy... she was dog tired!!
