The day after the snowy day....

Today we started with some indoor sports... Just hanging around. Playing.. taking some pics... will work better at night, or when the clouds and outside are much darker.

 I tried to put her down for a nappy.. she went to sleep.. but the minute I put her down.. she cried.. so today.. she was clinging... She was missing daddy something terrible I think. So, after her nap, the temp wasn't too bad so, I took her outside to play in the snow. The temp was hovering around -1 to -2 cel. With the windchill it was more like -5 to -7cel. Still not bad for a trip out to play :)

Gwyn did a lot of laying in the snow... she was having trouble walking in it.

James had wondered over to the center of that neighboring yard to measure how deep the snow was.. It was 10 inches.

I so wanna swing momma!!

  Gwyn wanted to go for a swing.. I didn't think I could get the ice out of the bottom of the swing and didn't want to make out that she might get a swing.... so, I left it at the swing was full of snow!! She did go for a slide.. and let me tell you that was the fastest slide she ever had!!! It was iced and she went flying down! Good thing for the snow!! LOL

  She wanted to shovel... but we had a bit of trouble grabbing it. She was having trouble all over. The snow in places was so deep she had trouble walking. Her snow pants are shortish and rode up over her boots even with the elastic cuffs. Her jacket was short in the body and rode up at one point to let snow into her snow pants. Her sleeves were a wee bit short and her mittens kept coming untucked so her little wrists were hanging out. So her sleeves were working up and her mittens falling off.. Mind you she did do some pulling off of mitten's when she was frustrated she couldn't hold something or she wanted to touch the snow.. She did a bit of snow touching :)  When she was tired of trying to wander around and cold she wanted to get in the van. I told her no we were not going anywhere and she got upset. I told her daddy would be home soon though she still wanted to go and did not want to come in the house.. mind you, that handy dandy bag of cheesies from  her Halloween candy worked wonders to ease her pain..  :)

All in all we had a good day. Gwyn had some fun outside. WE got some fresh air! All good :)

Overnight winter.

 It snowed last night, we woke up to winter. It snowed all day!!!!!! I mean all day!! Pics of that tomorrow. James needed to get the tractor and disk back to the farm... so we went out in that... I followed the tractor to the farm... And James drove home.. The roads were thick.. but passable.


My new cookie sheets

I am right pissed off with the Teflon coated crap they sell. My cabbage roll pans are in the garbage.. and most of my Teflon cookie sheets. I hate cooking to remove the food and find Teflon attached to the food! You work that hard to prepare food and then it's ruined. So, my amazing, wonderful husband, went to Amazon and ordered me these fantastic sheets!! They are expensive.. but I tried them out today.. would say long as they last they are worth every penny. I do have to register them.. for the lifetime warranty!!! Which is fantastic. They are heavy though.. but love them so far...

Rider prided herself up. Coloured herself green for you non-rider folks. With Crayola wax crayons.. I don't know how she did it.. but it all washed off in the bath!!

We had a fabulous gymnastics class today.  Gwyn did fairly well. I only had to chase her a few times... LOL She was tired though, not sure if it helped or hindered. I am sure this was probably the best class we have had yet.

And ok. Now as to the title. We have just come through a section of time, where I know Gwyn has understood what I have been saying, though she has chosen not to listen.  She would run off and do her own thing and whatever.  Now... she has amazed me a couple times. Yesterday she wanted a nap. I know because she brings me her blankie(this is the signal I am ready for my drink o'warm milk and my nap mom). She had a puzzle out and scattered on the floor and the TV on. I told her she should pick up her puzzle and turn off the TV first! And she went and put all the puzzle pieces in the puzzle then went and turned off the TV. I then said she should take her puzzle off the floor. So she picked it up and put it on the couch. Pretty awesome if you ask me. So over she came and went down for her nap!! Wonderful!!  LOl when she got up from her nap she brought both her fuzzy bunnies out.... LOL too too cute!!!

So now, back to where I started. She is listening sometimes now!! Fantastic!  I love it!  Friday, we were going to town and she ran off the back step and I though she was going to head for her swing set. No, she actually ran around the van until she found her door and stopped. I swear I couldn't believe it!  Course we had backed in, and while she was out of site my heart was in my throat, but I think that's just a OMG I can't see my girl, mommy thing. I was certain she was going straight for the mud!! LOL

Hmm... what else to tell you? She finally is up to 23lbs!! on our scale.  And she is 33 1/4 tall.. maybe even a half by now. . she is a growing girl... 2 weeks and 2 days until she is 2. Hmm.. maybe that's why our day was soo good??? The 2's are with us? LOL

Anyhow... Will see about pictures later. James is sure plugging in the camera card is disconnecting his net. So, we shall see as I have not yet plugged the damn thing in today.....

So on her latest climbing adventure... she climbed up into the window. She did really well... till she didn't.

This morning, I was tidying a bit. And I saw this....

This morning we had half a cheese bun... And a whole lot of  Bran flakes for breakfast! I was quite happy to find out she liked bran flakes.  Something that is so good for her... I actually don't mind them either.. and they are not full of all that sugar and crap.  So, Cheerios, bran buds, bran flakes. She likes Fruit Loops and French toast cereals too.. but they are sooo full of sugar I try to hold out and give them to her.. once in awhile.  She does pretty good though.. I think we are going to have to have a bedtime snack and I think it will be yogurt. She wakes up hungry at 10.. no matter if I put her to bed at 8 or 9. So.. maybe a snack will help that. WE shall see!!

 This morning I did up my dishes from last nights square attempt. Then I organized myself and made my second attempt here! These ones look much better and once sliced will be packaged for the sale on Saturday in Wadena.  The first batch were yummy! So.... just so ya know.. LOL

Always something....

Well, we were off to Yorkton today.. We needed a giant load of groceries! And that is what we got!!!  It went well. I was so glad I waited for James to come and help with Gwyn... Gwyn and giant loads of groceries.. can be... at the very least challenging!!! And we made it.

So, we picked up pizza on the way home. It wasn't bad pizza.. it was pretty good. I don't know if I would say it was worth what we paid for it.. but when you think of most fast foods.. are there many we can say that about?

So we had pizza for supper and Gwyn went for a sleep and I started my Rice Krispie square for the bake sale.... well... hmmm... I need to double my recipe for my big pans. I had a smaller pan I used to make them in.  I also need to either make plain ones... or.. uhmm... add my M&M's later.  The heat and the pressure of pushing them down.. crushed them. So, maybe add them right when I push it down? or push them in when it is still soft? I dunno.. maybe will just make plain ones for the bake sale and call it done?  Will see how ambitious I am tomorrow.. OH and I was disappointed.. No XMas M&M's out yet!!! Bringing out the bloody decorations and didn't bring out the M&M's... dog naggit. Oh well.. if the squares end up having.. normal colours will have to do!!

Our Happy Halloween!

I've been knitting, it is not much, but it is a start. This is the forever restarting scarf. LOL I am determined to finish it now!!! And not to have to restart it yet again!!!

 Gwyn has been Daddy's girl today. She was with him all morning... and most of the afternoon until I got her ready to go trick or treating. Hanging with dad in the bedroom watching TV, playing with him, while he played his game.

 When I put her costume on her she ran to show daddy. Also wanted him to take the banana out of her pocket!!! LOL was soooo cute!!

Happy Halloween!!!

OH! It truly is a Happy Halloween!! We are all better!! HOORAY!!!!!!! Just thought I should let you all know.... now.. I don't know about trick or treating.. I would like to put the costume to good use.. and Gwyn has been well 2 days now(yesterday and today). James and I feel like new people to yesterdays remnants of illness. Was really that one night that was the worst. All better, All good! And Hopefully a fantastic Halloween after all!!

Happy Fr*ck'ng Halloween

The flu has hit. I think Gwyn is better today. She was eating up a storm. Eating everything you gave her.  James and I, could hardly stand the look of food, but forced ourselves to eat. The flu hit last night for James and I. It hit Gwyn Wednesday or Thursday night. So, one Halloween costume, found for nothing.... I don't want to pass this nasty flu to anyone. I am even wondering if we should keep the lights out and doors locked... so not to pass to any unsuspecting kiddies... Maybe tomorrow will tell me better.

So, enough about our sick.

My company left today,

Mom and Auntie W. left today. With the very strong instruction that if the road was too bad to come back.  I have been a wee bit worried as I know.. My momma isn't the most confident driver.  The snow has also been falling lightly since ooh 10am this morning. It has picked up since they left.  James and I are both in the same boat.. looking out the window to see if they came back every time we walk by it! Gawd, I miss them already.

 Was a great visit. It was too short, but that is the usual! We just live too darn far apart. Oh well... such is life... I miss um, and I hope the drive goes well....

Pie and blankets...

Another coolish day out there. It ended nicer than it began... which.. is nice I suppose. Promises of a nicer day tomorrow... Let's hope :)

My girl likes to get under a blanket and play around.. she will roll around and play peeka for quite a while.

Though, last night she was not well. Today may have been a wee bit of aftermath. But she did snuggle up in the blankies for fun.

I got some pears and apples ordered from the fruit truck.. and well, pears tend not to travel well. So, we decided to make some pear pie... well and apple pie too.... Here I am making up the pastry. Two pear, one apple.

Before baking, 3 pies. 4 apple/pear pastry perogies.. LOL
