The things we do.....

Yes, this is a picture of me with an ice cream pail on my head. Why? Well.. it made my little Gwyn laugh.  LOL she has been under the weather with a cold now for 2 weeks. She is also teething at the same time.... Heaven help me. So, Here is me. With a bucket on my head to make my Gwyn laugh.

Gwyn has been active at home through her cold. Walking her dog. LOL Yes, inside.. it has only been the last day or so that has been... lets say half decent and maybe worth going outside.

 Our new window. It's fabulous! I can see outside again(previously covered with a piece of plywood). This pic was taken at night.. during the day it is far more... breathtaking.. LOL Thank you again for the window honey!!! I am sooo excited that it actually opens!!!!

 And here our girlie is just loungin' out eatin' a cookie... a bran cookie... They are good.. but they sure as sh*t are not all bran!! Though, my sweet pea does like to eat all bran buds! LOL She is awesome!

So, that's life. I am off to Wadena to drop off some Mom's Pantry orders for the fundraising. I am also attempting cabbage rolls.. on my own... Momma help me.. I sure hope they taste like something... LOL

Sick, ahhh hell sick....

Well, My Gwyn has been off key for about a week and a half. The rest of us held off until this week to catch it!! Yes this house is down with a cold. It has some.. flu like edges, but is a cold.  We have been wrestling Gwyn to wipe her nose.. I will be SO very very glad when the cold is over!!! And we can get back to living life. I would have loved to get to Wal-Mart for some $5.00 Tide, but not with a sick Gwyn!!!

One good thing, she did sleep in her bed, Monday night from midnight until 5am!!! Holy smack!! Couldn't believe it! No repeat last night mind you.. but I think she had a tougher day with the cold!  She was in bed with us by 2. Oh well baby steps...

So, that is all that is going on round here.... think I should go get the mail... get a Little outside time? hm mm. Probably do us good :)

Gwyn took my bunnies down the slide again, then decided they might like a rest.  She wanted me to sit with her and the bunnies!! What a girl!!

Gymnastics

Gwyn started gymnastics today. I think she will enjoy it more and more every time.  I know if things get better... ooh wait.. don't say if.. say when, I think I will enjoy them more too. She is a very busy toddler to say the least and has had no structure... yes, I said NO STRUCTURE what so ever. At home we run loose, at grandma's we run loose. When she is hungry, we feed her, when she is tired, she naps. With reason of course.. It's usually, get up ungawdly early, have breakfast, snack at 10ish, nap shortly after, lunch at noonish, snack in the afternoon, super around 5 or 6ish, then bed again. That is a far cry however to any structure. So we will say, today's class was an experience. She isn't one to sit still.. so sitting still for directions was difficult, waiting her turn was also difficult. But she did love it as she cried when it was time to go.  She must have had fun.

Though I will admit I left feeling less than perfect. I don't know if it is just the funk I have fallen in lately or what.. but, I felt like Gwyn was the only one acting up and that somehow it was all my fault. That I had failed to give her some skill she needed to function in the setting.  Though, after calming and being reassured by many, she was just reacting to structure and a new environment.  That after a few times she will get  used to it and all will be better. And she was not the only one.. being a toddler! LOL But tunnel vision blurs the edges around what you see right?

Anyways, I am soooo very much looking forward to next week. To see how much fun We will have! To see how much better it gets :)

BTW, she is sleeping in her bed as we speak.. though it has been this way.. sleep in her bed until.. oh 2am then back to bed with us. *sighs* some day right??

My beautiful girl :)

Grandma found our girl some pretty bedding. Now just to get her room in shape... we are part way there but still have a long way to go. She did however snuggle right into that bedding and had a great sleep first time in it.  We are still working on the, Gwyn's bed versus our bed. Ask her where her bed is and she will still go to ours... may just take some time. Just need to be patient....

We had a giant pile of gravel in mom and dad's site out camping. The kids loved playing in it. It is there because they are putting electric in all the sites.  Seems rediculous to have the camp ground pulled up in such a mess over the long weekend.... but I suppose. Those poor buggers camping on the beach probably would have rather had a site, but, the beach or bust. Luckily mom and dad have the seasonal site. Mind you after the rain we had Sunday night to Monday.. I don't know how lucky it was... but everyone was good and everyone got out. I went to the city because, I had to wash the sleeping bag.... and uhmm dry the tent!! It worked great to hang it in Dad's garage... thank goodness I did that because it was too wet here at home to have hung and dried it.... Rain rain and more freaking rain!!!

So, we are home safe. Had a great Labour day weekend. Had a good visit in the city. Now to break in to the norm again....

Gwyn's New Bed

Gwyn has a new bed.

I like it, she likes it, all good!

She even had her nap in it yesterday. She also slept in it last night... from.... hm mm... 8 to10pm, then 10 to 1pm. Progress.. I guess.

Few days again....

We have been busy with peas. Picking, shelling, blanching then bagging and throwing them in the freezer. Will have a nice stash of garden peas for the winter :) Which is always nice. And I suppose saves a few bucks.














Other than that, life has been pretty quiet.  Have been chipping away at Gwyn's room. I have now found it. Have her mattress on the floor in there. We did have it in the crib but it wasn't so good there. So, now on the floor for our climbing girl.  She has been napping on the mattress. Last night she made 5 hours on it!! HOORAY!!! 10pm until 3am. Very nice to have the bed to ourselves! Hopefully it just gets better and better. She is getting to be such a big girl :)

Good day,

Gwyn and I had a great day today.. I was tired as all hell.... yes... 6 hrs of sleep did not cut it for this momma.  But made it through.  We were up at 6. Watched some TV. Ate some breakfast. Outside for a good play until 10am. Back in for a drink, then a lunch, then a nap. Up at 3. Played some. Had some supper. Out to play when it started to cool after 5pm. Played out for a bit. Had a ride on the push bike(mommy had a good long walk). Felt great btw!  Then home, visit with Daddy who was home now.  Made supper for James and I. Then, now I guess just kickin' back until bedtime. Maybe about 9 as Gwyn isn't showing all signs of ready yet... LOL 

Big day tomorrow. Pickin' peas at the farm again.... Sighs.. hopefully early enough it won't be nasty horrid hot. Was pretty darn hot today! Might pack a bag and see about Canora's pool..... They apparently have a separate toddler pool.. not so scary that she gets too deep by accident maybe?  But will see what the day holds.

We had a good day today. At the start I wasn't so sure it would be! When Mr.J says I need to go to Wadena for this.  So, I made the very best of it. I had no dishes to do. I had toys to pick up.. but, what the heck.. toys on the floor are nothing new in a toddlers space! LOL So, I figured.. well it is warm enough to go for a swim. I thought I was crazy.. How are you going to handle that wild girlie in a pool.... And yes... even when we were there in the pool I wondered!! But we went, took care of our business. Had a dip in that lovely pool!! The water was soooo nice!! They have a 0 entry so you can walk right in. They had a little tykes slide there for the little people to slide into the water on.  They had a little spray island, which my girl just loved!!! That is where I wish I would have had a few more hands... Scared she would climb or slip out b4 I got to her on the opposite side. She loved playing in there though. When she was shivering...(I so didn't want to take her away until she was ready or chilly) we dried off and dressed up again. Headed over to the bakery, picked up some of their... mmmm, mmm, hamburger buns, and had a donut treat while we were there!! YUM! Shame on us. But, we need to live a little and enjoy life too! AND it isn't like we are there everyday scarfing them down... LOL Anyways.... then we went off to the Co-Op and got some milk and other such wonders. Then all in the van and off to home...Nice to be home.. G was soooo tired! She had fun, but was tired. She had some supper, called her Auntie W to tell her what fun she had. No answer so had to wait for the call back :) While on the phone with her auntie, she wanted to go to sleep. So off to bed at OMG 6pm er 6:30pm... She may be up horrible early.. but she only had a short nap this morning.. so hoping she will sleep until 6! If I am lucky at all it will be 7am and not 4!! Good grawsh.... it could be a horrid early one!! I just wanted to tell you about out pool trip.

Accomplishing something. AGAIN!!!

Wow! Yes, I feel like I am on a roll!! You wouldn't believe it. My legs and hips are telling me so though.... Today, I got all my dishes from yesterday done up. I got all of today's done, only an ice cream scoop and 2 ice tea glasses and spoons remain (glasses are in use).  I bagged up 15 bags of peas and got them in the freezer.. yes I blanched them.. so wash, boil, rinse, cool, bag.  Fed my troops (Mr.J and G). I got some things done in G's room!! So, size 3 cloths are sorted and beyond. Just to go through the old totes and figure them out. Also now I can start on other things in there.. like emptying the crib so we can take it down and put her mattress in there!!! Hooray!!! *sighs* that is a long road though. But I am feeling less discouraged right now.. so.. will stop looking at the forever road and look at my current accomplishments instead!! That feels much better!! LOL 

And tonight, G goes to size 4 diapers.  Good gawd she was in 3's for over a year!!! or was it just a year? Auntie W. do you remember? eh, doesn't matter.. we went through tonnes of size 3. The only reason I am going to a 4 now is because the damn things are too short. They are diggin' into her poor little leg at the hip joint so time for some longer ones!!

What else can I tell you?  Mr.J sprayed the yard today, one step closer to nice grass for my G.

Well, now it's late.. well getting to be early!!! So, off to bed I go because that gorgeous G will be up at an awful early hour!!!

P.S. I am so glad to be back writing this... I sure did miss it.  Wouldn't it be cool if I got that room all done up then I could get some knittin' in? MM socks for Christmas anyone?? LOL

Accomplishing something.

Well, yesterday. I accomplished something. Felt for the first time in awhile like I got something done.  Of course... Mr.J says "You wasted your whole afternoon. It doesn't look any different to me." With a grin on his face as we crawled into bed last night.  I told him he was an ass as usual. I know I made progress. It looks better and feels better to me.  I have a giant bag of cloths that don't fit, one way or the other to get rid of.  Wondering where I will find a drop box. So after the bedroom adventure. I then wandered into G's room... Oh my.... I just want to say.. no one is to buy a size three anything for her unless it screams very loudly that it is a G item. At least until I get things sorted out and can say she needs something... 3's are stacked up.  2's are a little skimpy.. but thinking with size 3 shirts we should be pretty darn good yet. We will see. I have lots of sorting to do.

And today, I already have my dishes done... and it isn't even 10am yet!! Wow! Gotta be a record no?  Mr.J is at the farm today. I have to do some mile makin'. Recycle bins, van is full.. LOL going to go to Preeceville. I have some bottles and cans as well as some business for Mr.J. Maybe throw that bag of cloths in.. just in case.... I see a drop box! LOL

So, off and running... well.. not yet but soon I thinks... have to put some pants on my G and take her out to play for a bit.

The Treadmill of life....

Here, today, I thought I did pretty damn good. Had the dishes all done up at lunch. Had lunches dishes in the sink.... then suppers.. now it looks like a huge pile again. Been doing laundry all day....You know the drill.. put a load in.. take a load out...round and round and round.  I thought I was accomplishing something... then at the end of the day.. I am tired and feel like I accomplished nothing.  Run, run, run and get nowhere. Life's treadmill.

Trying to keep my sunny outlook... but it's sometimes.... a challenge.

Picking Peas

I know, that may not be all that exciting to most of you. But, To my 20 month old... it was very exciting! She ate peas, onions and more peas.  Until I told her no more... scared she will poo green through the eye of a needle tomorrow, or get one hell of an upset tummy.  Anyways, she had fun running up and down the rows.

Walking around with Grandma. Playing outside. Enjoying the fresh air.  While Grandma or I chased her about.  We did manage to get the 2 rows of peas picked. But only 2 - 5 gallon pails came off them.  Still a lot of skinny peas there. So, picking will happen again in a couple days :) Hopefully all of us will have recovered from today's ventures and be ready to go again! Thank you Grandma for the wonderful day!! 

Uhhh... Yup... been a while? LOL

Over a month!!! Been a while. Time to get back to this. I miss this. I get tied up in those damn games on FB and they suck up all my time! I am done with them though. Turning over a new leaf. 5lbs lighter.... and determined to get my shit together.  I need to get my house in order and get me in order. I know I am not much out of order but, I still need some tweaking... don't we all??? LOL

I realize I love love love writing here, but never seem to have time. Well, lets see if less FB=more Blogger? We shall see. Anyways, might not see a bunch of me to begin with. Need to reform my habit. It was so easy when we were never home.. one of the first things I would do is write  here to let everyone know what I had been up to. Well.. what WE had been up to.  What I crafted er whatever.  That is something else I want to get back. Crafting. I want to put a few rows on a sock every night after "G" goes to bed. Maybe, I can get a pair of socks made for everyone for Christmas.  As it sucks to be a farmer right now. Yeah it does, but we won't talk about that. Focus on the positive right????

Little G is getting so big!!!  Long and lean and beautiful!!! Full of life and exploring all!!! All great and wonderful things.

Sighs.. it is hot in here.... I am off to accomplish something... hmmm... maybe... we shall see...

I can't believe we are here already. My girl must have decided to potty train herself... I think she wants panties. She can't yet tell me, but actions speak loudly. She has been known to get a hold of a pair of mommy's and try to put them on!! OH MY!!!  Such a tiny girl in... wait we will say generous panties!!! LOL But this weekend she seemed to have made up her mind she was going to use the potty and that was that. She has done amazing!! I think I have changed hmmm 6 or 7 diapers this weekend.... some because of me.. some because of  lack of words..... and only morning ones otherwise. Wow is all I can say!! She is one amazing little girl.

Tonight, she brings her blanket to me.... she is ready for bed.. so it's here is my blanket.. wrap me up and give me a boob(yes still breastfed and hanging on to it tightly). And off to sleep she went! Wonderful and amazing my girl!!!

I had to pick up my chin this morning.. after 12 trips to the unsuccessful potty... Gwyn had a successful pee!! HOORAY!! I was getting a bit tired of trips to the potty... but, 12 no go's is better than missing the one that counts right? No matter how tired you are of going to the bathroom with her for nothing.... but a fight over the wipes... LOL  She did so good!! She has no words for potty... but is potty training herself... that on it's own has cheered me up!! What a wee smartie!!

Feeling Cranky and a bit miserable......

Yes, I know, It's terrible.  I hate it. I hate me for it. I just feel lacking in patience, tolerance and anything else that one would think was good.  I have good moments... but they only seem moments.  Why? I am feeling frustrated, aggravated, maybe even a bit hopeless.  And that is probably where most my trouble is.  All this frucking rain. Water in the basement. No crop in the fields. More rain in the forecast. Yup, hard to look up.  Well... my little G. angel that she is has been peeing in her little potty.  Proud of her for that. But then, there are these Dvd's in cases, taking up my counter, and my second sink. Drying out.  Or at least trying to dry them out. Every time I have to cook something or try to wash dishes.... It just gets me again. I don't know if I am strong enough to do this. I hope so, for my G's sake. But am feeling pretty damn hopeless and alone right now....  That's how my mood circles. Feelin' like sh/t. Don't worry bout me though... I'll get through it...

Rain, Rain, Rain, Fruckin' Rain

You know... I really hate complaining about the weather. There is not a damn thing we can do about it. But! I am sure fed up with this rain. It needs to fuck off. We need to get some crops in the ground. Who is going to pay the bills? Fuckin' Rain.

Ok. Now I hope I am done with that. I am just home from 2 weeks in the city. Yes, 2 weeks. I know I didn't get to visiting a whole lot of people I always want to see. There just seems to be something sucking time out of the air!

We had a doctor appointment. We also had 18mo. Immunizations (3 needles). She is a trouper. She is such a good little girl. Wasn't too hard on the doctor, or the nurse giving the imm. either to be truthful. She is long and lean and perfect! Course... that is her momma talking.

She has now said "Mommy, Dadday, Gramma, Grandad and Grandpa" Not necessarily clear as day but clear enough we know what she said. Now just some other words. She understands everything though.... so... she might talk in sentences... LOL or paragraphs the way she chatters on.

She got to play in her sandbox (can be seen in the pic of the rain above, little orange fish one) we brought home from the city for a few this afternoon. Had a swing in her swing, a ride on her bike. That is after we drove home from Regina, and had lunch. She now sleeps... my little princess.

So, what else have I to tell you? I went and got my first pedicure/manicure. Wow it's great to feel my heels again. and I love the nail polish colour!!! On me at least. I very much enjoyed going with my sister for that!!! Thank you!!!

I forgot everything else I wanted to say.. will have to come back later.... Catch ya later!!

Ok. I remembered... I love Pelican products for kids!!! I have that really cool polar bear toboggan for G. And her Little sandbox is now a Pelican product too.. it's a hand me down and is missing it's plugs(it can be a pool too!). So I emailed Pelican Sports and they emailed back in 15 minutes!!! WOW!!! Anyways, their stuff is really cool... and I will keep you posted on how the plug getting goes!! Might need them to keep the water out........

Where does the time go?

Here it is.. in a nutshell....currently the time goes to chasing a toddler. Plain and simple. No time for me, no time for the blog... just chase! It's good though. I like that she is active and not a slouch. She is beautiful and busy. Smart. Adventurous..... daring.... hm mm... makes the chase, interesting to say the least.

She climbed a six foot step ladder the other day. Climbs the slide on her swing set like it was designed for her, not the older kids it was intended for. She climbed up the rocking chair tonight... and right up on the back, knocking it into my chair. Thank goodness I was at the computer checking email at the time because that chair came over on my lap instead of all the way to the floor.. saving her a heck of a thump.

Busy busy busy.. :)

Feeling some happier. WE had a great day today! Went to Wynyard. Had coffee with a good friend. Got rid of a Pony(gaining 4 square feet of floor in the kitchen). Dropped off Ice Tups in Wadena on the way to Wynyard, making more room in the house.... Now just to, list and sell some more stuff to get it the heck out..... What else can I tell you? Not a whole lot I guess.... So I am off and running.. maybe have a shower.. and some sleep b4 morning.. LOL

Kicking and screaming!!

Ok, for the potty training.. we made one day.. after that. She isn't so eager to sit on her potty every trip J or I make to the washroom. Which.. I am not sure.. will we have good days and bad or did she just want to sit on her potty more.. and after she can wait now or what.. don't know. Ah well.. tomorrow is a new day. She did get a diaper rash from something... that may have caused it.

As for kicking and screaming! I took Gwyn outside. We walked around the block. All the way around the front way. Stopping to doodle here and there. Then we came home and I got out the stroller. We walked all the way around town.. we walked north out the ally, then west and to the end of the block north up 2 blocks then east back to main street.. then we wandered up the sidewalk toward the Co-Op, then east along railway ave all the way to the entrance of town, then west down the gravel all the way back to Main street and back home.

In our travels we met a rather... unhappy white dog.. barked and followed us for a good half a block. I am afraid that the town office will be hearing about it, unfortunately. I believe you should tie up your dogs if you are not in attendance or the dog is out of sight. Or have the dog fenced so it doesn't scare those of us who are going for a walk on public property.

While Gwyn and I were walking around the block she saw her first helicopter!! She was taken but a little scared by the noise as it flew overhead.

So after all that I brought her inside.. to listen to her cry and carry on, because she wants to go back out. So, dressed her up, took her out.. and she proceeded to fall on her bottom in the cold wet mud puddle... LOL So I brought her in and changed her.. LOL Now she is happily playing about the house.

Potty Training Begins

Well today we have had a tremendous start to potty training! She has peed in her potty 3 times. She did dribble in her diaper but we were outside and she did make that she wanted to go in.. so maybe.. she was trying? She has been sitting on the potty in the mornings when we get up. It's been a hit and miss with going in the potty.. but I also sometimes am slow to get out of bed.. so it is probably me... The other day she whipped her diaper off and peed on my carpet.. which is why we are potty training now...I think that is a clear signal to start. So, we are now on the potty training!

Anyway... off to do some stuff... and change a pooper dooper diaper.. anyone volunteering? I hope she will poop in the potty soon.. mind you I don't know if I want to clean that up!!! LOL

Long day in Yorkton....

Well, we had a wonderful. But long, day in Yorkton today. We had some things to pick up. A lot of running always in the city. And it does not matter which one or when... LOL

The last few days have been absolutely beautiful out! Little G and I have spent some good hours outside. We climb through the snow or splash in the puddles. I took her on her toboggan the other day uptown.. that was a mistake.. muddy mittens and muddy jacket followed.. so, Tuesday we got out the stroller!! Much nicer.. not so muddy!!! And yes we got down and tromped around in the puddles and such after the stroller ride! It's hard to bring her in .... she cries.. doesn't want to be inside.... even when she is cold or tired.

Well.. That is about all I have to say right now... I know it isn't much.. but.. OH! We almost have a shed! A big shed! Hooray!! :) Now that is all I have to say! LOL

Well. We had a nice quiet weekend. Monday I headed out to see Trics from By the hills for a visit. I just realized she hasn't blogged for 11 months! Wow!

We had a good visit. Gwyn emptied her plastics cupboard... LOL and we had tea. I traveled down gravel to visit.. made it just over an hour to see her! Was great! Though I must say.. I will not be taking Highway 310 any time soon again! What a sh**hole!!! It's worse than a bad gravel road.. and by bad I mean rough. So on the way back I did all gravel.. much nicer.

Anyways.. got to run.. things are quiet around here today too...
