Ok, so, I have a couple friends who asked for these. I was sent the pattern by a friend when I was breastfeeding my Gwyn. I tend not to be one to stir a "sh*tpot" but rather fight in the wings. I breastfeeding Gwyn never ran into anyone who openly opposed it. My dad thought it was good to do, but it made him uncomfortable so he would leave the room. After my 2 and 3/4 years of breastfeeding Gwyn he had gotten comfortable enough to walk through the room she was nursing in! That is a giant step for him and I am proud of that! Now, I did have a friend tell me he didn't care if I breastfed her in his bar/restaurant as long as I covered up. Which is fine. I don't really wanna slap my breasts out for all the town drunkards to see. And I don't know.. I fed her in other restaurants and malls and wherever I happened to be and never had anyone say anything. Now I don't know if James and I just looked like we would bite their heads off if they said anything or if it was just that nobody really noticed? I really don't know. But, here is the thing. Breastfeeding is the best thing you can do for your baby, if you can do it. Do. If you can't, or decide not to, that is totally your choice. But, I believe that babies have a right to eat, anywhere you do. Be it from breast, bottle or plate. Now, I said my piece where did I start? Oh my.. Right breast hats. I have a couple gals who made requests for them. I hope they fit their little people. But I thought I would show you, because they are cute and neat and fun. I think I am gonna make another.. just in case... and who knows.. maybe end up making some out of something warmer. This is Paton's Grace Merchandized cotton, it's soft and smooth and wonderful.. but we shall see how it goes.

A play date.

Ok, finished those socks this morning.. I mean like 11:50, so, just this morning! LOL They knit up nice. Look good. Feel good. Gwyn has yet to try them on. LOL She is busy bugging her daddy, All good.

Yesterday we had a play date. We did a craft. Played play doh. Played with the toys. Had coffee(milk with vanilla syrup, warmed up) Was great, both kids, out for a nap within 20 minutes of play end. LOL was great!

The Pay it forward mittens have been delivered! I have 2 of 8 done! Yay! This is very fun! I got to walk up to our little store and have a visit with a couple ladies and deliver the mittens! She liked them and they fit! I sure hope she wears the crap out of them! LOL Just because I love to see my knits in use!!

I do hope Gwyn loves these socks I made and wears the crap out of them! I would love to cast on another pair for her.. but not until I see this pair on!!! So, I am at a standstill as to what to cast on next. But don't worry! I will find something I am sure!!

So, that is my excitement. Will keep you posted on anymore!

So, yes, we have been a little busy. We had Grandma and Auntie W. come for a visit. Grandpa was working out of town for a week! Gwyn got the bed that Grandpa made for her!! I can not tell you how fantabulous it is and how much I love it. I will try to get better pics of it but the room is so small it makes it a real challenge!!! Might just have to take pics of the whole room... OMG it's a mess!! but, will see what happens. After Grandma and Auntie were here we went to the city to return them as cousin R. was having a birthday!! So we returned our guests and went to a birthday party. Did some grocery shopping and came home.

Grandma had hoped that while she was here the weather would be decent to play outside. It was not! Bloody cold it was! We went nowhere!! Grandma and Gwyn played a lot of playdoh. But grandma had brought along a shovel sled. So, when we got home the weather was much better so I gave her the shovel for grandma and outside we went! She had fun but liked to use the sled as a shovel more than the sled/toboggan. LOL I got some knitting done too!

Well. Hmm. They look very green/teal here. and it looks like a giant lump of too much of one colour. But I assure you in person.. and on a person.. they will be absolutely lovely. And yes.. that person should be here in a couple hours! Yay! Maybe... if I ask super sweetly she will let me take a pic of her in them.. as I think they will be gorgeous on her!!! but that is it for now.. Shroom hat, Knitting at larges mittens and my own scarf(if there is such a thing). I just hope she likes them and wears them a tonne!!

On another front. Went for a playdate today. Darn was it nice to sit and visit and have tea with another Momma while the girls played and ran their hearts out!! Was wonderful company!! Miss G took a great pic of her friend...

And miss G was very tired.. we came home. Watched some Kipper. Ate some noodle. And then she grabbed my phone and was playing a game on it in the chair while I changed a load of laundry. When I came back. This is what I found!!!

She was done. Took her to bed. Changed her bottom, and she did not wake. I guess she will be super surprised tomorrow when aunti and grammy are here.. ROTFLMAO that is I suppose if she doesn't wake up when they come in!!! (she is in bed!! LOL)

We have had some beautiful weather! The temps have been fabulous. So, we have spent some time outside! Gwyn enjoys it! So, does Kitty. Anyways, Gwyn made some snow angels yesterday, and today. Today we tried Cardboard tobogganing for fun! She very much enjoyed it.. but our little sand hill makes for a very fast, short ride!!!

Gwyn got a Christmas card from her Grandma. It had stickers in it!! I wish her grandma could have seen her face light up when she got mail! Soon as the stickers came out, she went right to work! She made that beautiful pic above!

This is my girl on her second pancake this morning. YES,her SECOND! So she ate a good 1.5 pancakes. Amazing! This gal is on an eating streak!! Last night she ate all the pickled carrots out of grandma's pickle dish...LOL guess they were good. She had also eaten a meatball or 2, a small piece of sausage, some cucumber out of the macaroni salad.... and.... an apple and a half before we left the house! I dunno where this eating streak has come from but, darn it's good.

Today Gwyn and I did some crafties. I tried to make her magic wands. They turned out OK. She loved the hand and foot sticks! And the Christmas trees below, we made from cut out hand shapes... and sticks. We remembered on the second tree that we had perfect star stickers... LOL but the first one is neat too... (Gwyn had fun with the glue)

Well.. I have had a hell of a last couple days.. I shall tell you more about that in a bit. We did however just have a very quick, visit from the man from the North Pole a few minutes ago. Miss Gwyn was very unsure of him, but wanted to show him all her favorite toys!!! so, had he stayed a little longer and not been so busy with the season.. she would have warmed right up! I didn't even get a picture.. shame on me!! Ah well, she loves the colouring book and crayons...

Now, onto my hell... LOL you sure you wanna hear it? Good grief...

This was the shawl in progress that I was rushing to finish for Christmas. I had only been working on it since... ooh July? Yes, toddler and lace.. not a good combo so.. the fussiest stuff was knit while said toddler slept... hence the time frame. So, I had posted this pic of how far I was getting as I was doing sooooo good!!! Then... I hit a critical error. I missed a section of decreases. A section I knew should have been there.... so I tried to fix it. no.. no no.. way!! It was crap. So.... frogged was the shawl. for you non-knitters that means rippit rippit rippit out into the ball form again. That is not where it stayed.. I tried to knit a different shawl type pattern with it... Hated it!!. Move on, tried this, tried that, dug around for this, dug around for that.. spent a day going in circles and not happy with a damn thing. Found something I was happy with.... had a couple hours of rows on it.. Someone removed the needles from the lace row..... not mentioning any toddlers. Can't get mad at the 3 year old. She only wanted to knit a scarf for herself. So cute I melted and knit her a scarf. a short cute pretty scarf.

The next morning.. I did more digging and found another yarn.. it was perfect!!! Just to find the right pattern for it. and I did. I think...

It has gotten lots bigger since then.... almost done.7 more rows. Fringe... and a quick blocking wash.. :) Should happen tomorrow... which would make me very happy! I love how it knits up. Beautiful!

Last Parent & Tot swim lesson...

So, we had our last Parent N Tot swim lesson. Gwyn has officially moved up to Preschool A. Which she does by herself. Exciting and sad all in one. I really enjoyed being in the pool with her. But, she is growing up. Though I myself, and a few others that know us, Can NOT picture Gwyn with 4 other kids and one instructor. Life jacketed or not. Maybe it's just me? LOL I don't know.

The instructor, let the kids have a toy for the last class. I don't know if she regretted her decision by the time we were done or not... Gwyn got a squirty. She must have squirted everyone at least once... and our lovely instructor the most.(she is the one in front of us in the pic below)

Gwyn loves the pool! She loves the water. Honestly, she gets it honestly!! From my side.

So, that was our Tuesday. Weds, was gymnastics and we have one last class before we break for Christmas.

I can not believe Christmas is only 2 weeks away.... where the heck does the time go? So, FYI all my Cards are late!!! and on top of it... I did not get any photo books done up.... sorry all.. they if they happen... shall be late as well. I have a 3 cut out that I want to take some pics of Gwyn with... but haven't got to. Life is crazy. But now, should at least be more manageable. Although....I am already wondering when I can get Miss G in swim lessons again!!!

I made a bloodshot eyeball hat for my BIL. He is 4 ft tall so it will be very neat to see it on his head, as opposed to some guy who's 6' something because the concept would be lost. No Dar, not a short joke, just the truth of it.

Some of you might actually remember the eyeball hat I made for Gwyn. Well, the fact that Mommy had one on, made her put hers on.. I must say she is much cuter!!! :)

When I was in the city. I picked up some paints for Miss G. She had a great time painting. She concentrated and worked hard at her pictures.

Thursday we added a new character to our household. We have yet to name the poor boy. James said "Cuddles" Gwyn said "NO". so... LOL we have yet to put a name on Kitty.

By real, I mean, other than mommy cutting her bangs. I took her to Jenna's Hair Studio today to get a trim. It looks very good, and she was awesome!! Course she got to meet 3 dogs, 2 bunnies, uncountable amount of goats, a very shy horse(wild in the process of being broken) and a donkey!! She didn't want to leave!!! That is always good, no?

Ok, we have had a fabulous fall. In fact having is the correct more propper way to put that. We have been just dipping under 0 at night for the most part, and being ooh 5 or 6 or 8 degrees during the day. We would spend more time outside if the wind didn't feel so freakin' cold but, you take what you can!

I am apparently normal. This nagging feeling of being 2 steps behind. Is apparently normal. Thank goodness, though I am still not so sure I should take comfort in this.....

Quick October photo update!!!

Well, I did not realize that October was slipping away and that it had been soooooo long since I posted! I got an email checking up on me from a net/blog friend :) Nice to know someone cares:) I have just been so busy!! Gwyn started gymnastics, and I put her in swimming lessons in Yorkton!! So, Tuesdays are busy swimming and driving. Weds not so bad kinda slouch days, but then gym in the afternoon!!! and it seems to be so crazy, between laundry and all that good stuff.... So, here on a lazy Monday, is a new post!!! OOH, and well we had harvest in there, and my Mom and dad came up from the city for Thanksgiving weekend! Was awesome visit and a darn good meal!!! So, been just a little nuts round here :P

I made turkey soup with the leftover thanksgiving turkey bones. It turned out not too bad :)

The little sweater I have been working on. Needs buttons and ends tucked in. But, I will post a pic when it is actually done. Maybe even when it is put on whom it's made for.

Gwyn was disappointed here that we couldn't play with Miss H. We got in the wagon and went to go get the mail. Miss H. had to go with grandma to make buns for Thanksgiving.

Daddy took little miss out one day.. she fell asleep just as they hit town. She was tired after working so hard on the farm with Daddy. They moved the combine(she got to honk the horn). and moved some other things around.

She would pick the picture up and run to the door and point to the picture then to the door!!!

Sorry there isn't more content. It has been a very busy, run every freaking place couple weeks. Things will settle and swim lessons will start... oh my.

Gymnastics start today. I am excited!!! Miss H. from across the way will be joining us this year! Yay!! (Swim lessons start in Oct. 1.5hr there, 1/2 hr in the pool, 1.5hr home. Once a week for 10 weeks. A little crazy, but I do believe it will be well worth it.)

So, Monday was Yorkton. Things for James before we left for the city. Tuesday was Regina... good grief a lot of driving but, done. Wednesday we went to Moose Jaw. Our girl... LOVED the toy train track display. She found the real ones a little intimidating. Not a bad thing to have a bit o good old fashioned fear/respect for large vessels!! But she did love that small display.....

We headed to the lake Friday night.... Gwyn enjoys camping.. and Grandma and Grandpa had a pool for her to play in... and she didn't like it, one bit! LOL

With all the extra hands around I got some stitching time in :) So, some wash cloths, and a fishy hat finished up.

Grandma and Grandpa got Gwyn a nice wagon. She has been enjoying it too!!!

Yes, I realize, an eyeball hat is a little odd. Gwyn however has a little crochet circle on a string we call her eyeball, and you see it in the picture above. She has tied that thing, ran with that thing everywhere.. it is grey when it was white. So, I made her an eyeball hat. I think it turned out well.. except I should not have been so lazy, I should have knit a few more rounds of white... to make the hat deeper.. but for the 5 minutes of attention it got.. oh well. May try again. IN my CRAZY brain I have a bloodshot eyeball hat forming up for a certain BIL. lol Will keep ya posted....

I carried the purple because I used so much. I staggered the colour starts so it looked even. Slipping the first stitch of each colour change on the second round of that colour. It worked out beautifully!

OK, I am making another fishy hat! What do you think? The purple looks kinda blue.. but it is a very nice purple and very fun!

Prior to the hat... I was working at this......

90lbs of ground beef, picked up from butcher.

I didn't count... heads of cabbage waiting for prep to roll.

A finished pan of Cabbage rolls.

This year, I used 70lbs of beef. A tonne of cabbage. A tonne of rice and onions. I ended up with 65 bags of cabbage rolls. Kept me busy for a few days..... :)

I got exciting news today!! Miss Em, miss M. got their Hat mitten and neck warmer set in the mail today! You can read about it here!

Hey, I think this guy came out really neat! Only trouble is his purple doesn't photograph very purple.. it looks kinda navy.. though looking at this moment it looks kinda purple... eh, he is cool. The young man who shall receive him will probably love him!

Well, on Tuesday I got my Red heart order. Yes, I know, some of you see Acrylic as not a yarn. As something horrid and uncalled for.. But, I do believe that every yarn has a place and a use. I would never make an active toddler a cashmere sweater.... but acrylic, You bet! So, Here it is.

I promised you pictures of the spindle I purchased. Well, here they are!

It's a very simple yet beautiful spindle. And well.. while I was in the store... good grief I couldn't help but look around..... you know.. yarn fumes... LOL fiber fumes maybe? But this yarn jumped and said, take me home. So, I did. I really enjoyed working with the navy with the Shetland border shawl, so, to see this colour jump up and holler at me.. I decided to take it home. I don't know what it will be yet.. but something pretty I think?

I finished the wee little project to finish the package for Miss Em. I love it! I am pretty sure she loves it! I can't wait for her to see it in person.... Just need to get it shipped now...

I did cast on my next fishy. It is a Red, Purple and blue.. even though the purple looks a little blue and the red a little wimpy!!

And this old devil has now got new life. I was wondering what the heck I would do with it after I knit it. That was dragging the life out of it. So my Momma pipes up and says how bout this auntie... And I thought that was a great idea.. so now it has new life and I have been working at it like crazy!!! I am almost half done the border repeats.. thank goodness... they are getting easier to remember but still a lot of work!! Can't wait to block it though and see how beautiful it is!!

I was at my Auntie's while I was in the city. YES! I was in the city...

I did purchase a spindle of my own. Pictures will follow. I also finished a neck warmer(just a little plain one to go with fishy hat and mittens. pictures will follow.) But, that is not what I am telling you about tonight.

I went in on Wednesday, arrived later than expected, but had a good day of it. I stayed Thursday. Shopped a bit, visited a bit. Friday(today) I left. Yes, quick, short and sweet visit. I had a spindle to return as some had come into the Golden willow. The van also needed an oil change. Both got done! YAY! I had a very very short shopping list and I managed to get most of it. The things I did not get are not pressing so it is not the end of the world.

ANYWAYS!

While visiting my Aunti. Yes, I call her Aunti. Just do. I used the washroom. In the washroom she has this wonderful quote. I am sure, I have read it a million times. But for some reason, this trip it hit me. It grabbed hold and popped for me. What was it? well..... "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. " — Mary Anne Radmacher. I have had a few days, that I have went to bed thinking I have got to be better tomorrow. I have got to do better, be better, feel better and act better tomorrow. I think as parents, mom's in particular. It is important to remember we can do better tomorrow.. when the world is shit with us today. And yes, I said shit. Some days just feel that way. So, I told my mom how I had read the quote before, but that it really didn't hit me until now. And told her what it meant to me. So, then, she reminded me, that Aunti had given her a copy of this same quote and it hangs in her bedroom. Now I have read it there too.. but it didn't register and hit home until I was standing in the bathroom washing my hands reading it for the gazillionth time. Odd. But some things are like that. Mom said that quote helped her through a lot.

I think that it is a great kind of courage to have. To know, to try again tomorrow.

And the part that really knocks my socks off.. Fishy is done, mitten's cast on. Well, mitten. Will see how I feel about it when I get to the stockinette part. Might be big but I am not sure... Gwyn's wrists are so skinny it is hard to think what to do for a bigger wrist. So, we shall see. Anyways, Isn't she gorgeous? I love the colours! Good pickin' Miss Em!!! I will try it on Gwyn's head tomorrow... maybe.. We shall see about mood! LOL Anyways, one more done. 7/11 done. :) So, short break from fishy hats, to do mittens. I may just cast on another fishy though... :)

Lovely Juliet just needs blocked and her flower/broach done up. I need to find a fantastically simple pretty bead or button. I will.. Just when I get to it. so Almost done is all she gets til I block her and get the pin done.

Now, this is the next fishy hat. It's for a wee girl, so I took 10 stitches out. Looks good to me so far.. sure hope the size is good.. once I get some more length on it I will get Gwyn to try it on! The colours are very pretty together.. and I can't wait to start with the stripes!!!

Well, this, that and the other really.We went and picked up the trailer we purchased at last weeks auction in Saskatoon yesterday. That was a very long hot day. But, we made it. All good :)

In other news.... I didn't take any knitting. Guess I should have, but I drove part way there. All good. (The drivers in Saskatoon are terrible).

What's keeping me busy... Gwyn is... and well.. fish hats... Good thing I like making them... I got a few more to go!!! I have had a couple more added to my list of to makes. So, I have 5 to go, after finishing the one on the needles. And I have made 5, before the one on the needles.

This morning I received a parcel. It was wonderful! Pics below....

Oh my, feels like it has been a long time since I rambled your eyes off. So, well, I guess I should get at it. Life is pretty full of Gwyn and rain. Today the sun is out so maybe we will venture out and enjoy some outside play. It is also gymnastic day so, will see how it all comes together. Last week I felt like a big meanie I didn't take Gwyn to Gymnastics as she was tired and cranky and only fell asleep 15 minutes before we would have had to leave. I didn't feel right about taking her and waking her up when she had been sooo tired!!! So, I let her sleep. She woke up a new girl in a couple hours!! Yay! Aside from that life is pretty quiet. We had a play with Miss H. the other day. Gwyn loved it! I guess that was Wednesday. Thursday we were off to an auction in Saskatoon. I had packed up everything for the day the night before. So we got up, dressed, ate and ran. We wanted to be early in case they were selling what we wanted earlier in the day. The auction started at 8 am I think. We got out of the house shortly after 7, maybe 7:20am. We were there at about 10:30. What we were there for was estimated to sell at 5pm. OH MY!!! So, we registered up. Took a look around. And went for lunch. We did a little business. James even let me go to Prairie Lily Knitting and Weaving shop. He stayed in the van with Gwyn. I went in and got some yarn fumes... LOL It is a wonderful shop. Helpful, friendly, and carry a little bit of everything! Was very nice space. So, I purchased a short cable needle for making, making of the fishy hats much easier!!! Yay!!!! no more stitches falling off the end of my dpns. When I get down to the needle being too long I can switch over to my dpns. Wonderful!!!

I also picked up some yarn. I love it. It is soft and beautiful. I will be making something specific for a Christmas gift out of it. So that is all I can tell you.

I could not believe the drivers in Saskatoon..... all I will say is OH MY GAWDS! I don't remember them being so ignorant when we visited the south end of town when we were in Outlook doing bins. Them North enders are scary! Now, I don't want to offend anyone... but people there are rude too!!! No thank yous for holding doors.. no returned smiles. I don't know if it was because the rain has got them all off their game or if they are just that bad!!! But, I am sick of the rain and I still smiled! James still held doors!! And don't even get me started on the Costco Parking Lot at NOON on a Friday!!!! The set up is nice, great idea, but when some idiot wants to wait for someone to load all their groceries, and 2, count them 2 car seat age children into a vehicle and hold up traffic while waiting..... It is not a pretty site. Good Grief....

Above is Anemie. I worked on it while in the van. To Saskatoon, around Saskatoon, while Gwyn napped at the auction sale, and some on the way home. I have one repeat of the border done.

I also have Juliet scarf on the needles yet. I just cast on another fish, last night.

And well.. The water in Margo is a lovely shade of orange right now. So, Yellow out on my load of whites almost fixed the damage. I need a new container of yellow out and some good water to try again.... So I washed Jeans. gah.. I so need to wash more.. but don't want to ruin my cloths!!! So Laundry waits. I am glad we don't drink that crap!!! Don't even feel like doing my dishes in it really.. but I suppose I need to to them sometime.... So I am off...

I found this pattern on Ravelry. I printed it out for my MIL as she has been hunting it. So, It was sitting on my counter and called to me.. so, I tried it out! I think it turned out well. As you can see Gwyn could barely wait to get her hands on it!!! She carried it around for a few minutes and showed it to her daddy several times. Of course there are a few things I would do a little differently if I were to make another. I am tempted to whip up a couple more... and then hunt for some babies.... :) (maybe there is a pattern for a crochet baby? or knit for that matter?)

Ok, so I have been making fishy hats. You all know that right? LOL You all saw the pink pie eye before. Well.. it's eyes were bugging me. They were too small. So, I redid them. They look much better now.

I made a Crazy Crissy Fishy. Swirly eyes and all. Finished last night. Very colourful and fun! The green is not so light, it is a neon green!! Very fun!

On the needles, Anemie Shawlette and Juliet Scarf. I have 3 more fish to make, for sure. Who knows who will ask for what next! LOL I hope to get to sewing my bag up soon. We shall see how the time goes. I want to sew some project bags too. I love my big project bag, but I can put all my little ones in it.. LOL So, I want something small I can grab on the way out of the house!! LOL Rrrrriiiggghhhttttt... LOL I'll get there!

A shopping bag. I had a case of start itis today. I finished blue fish, cast on too much Koolaid fish. I started this bag(below) and finished it. I wound some yarn for a shawl I want to cast on but will not let myself until I am done the scarf I have on the go... I have a bag ready to sew... though I am not sure about my lining.. might find something else and re-cut it. But Yes, I finished a wonderful pink shopping bag. I think I may have enough left for a second one. Yay! then just to decide to keep or give away.. we shall see...

So, I don't know if you can see my spinning from where you sit or not.. but I took a couple pics. Just so you could see! I have stayed pretty steady on the 15min or more a day. I think most days have been more like 20min to half an hour. And I do think I maybe a bit better. No guarantee's on that..... I still have some pretty wild thickness changes.... LOL but, I think I am still learning the feel of it all.

Gwyn likes the fishy hat

I haven't posted much in the last month. Sorry bout that. have been running for parts and feeling sorry for myself... LOL But, I finally shook it! I don't like me when I feel down, so I don't feel like sharing me either. But now, I shook it. I feel like me again. You might just be hearing from me a little more.. Though, our time outdoors may be affecting that as well, but will see what I can do!

While I was in the city. I went and sat with Sharon at Golden willow and she showed me how to spindle spin. I purchased some fibre and borrowed a spindle(she didn't have one to sell me). I have been trying to spin for 15 minutes a day. Sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesn't. But.. I hope I can get better. Practice makes perfect though! so...

And I cast on another fishy hat. yay! looks good so far... I have the Juliet scarf on the needles.

Ok, from previous posts... you all know what this is....

Well, lets just say we been putting on the miles. Well, maybe because I am Canadian I should really say.. putting on the kilometers. Miles sounds more correct though. I have been making lots of miles. and the last 2 days have been the most. But, I will get to that! LOL
So, this week, Monday-to the farm to pick up part. Tuesday-To Yorkton to drop off part and wait for said part to be repaired to return to farm. Said part not ready that day. Wednesday-Actually stayed home, awaiting phone call that would send me flying out the door to get said part. Still not repaired, though was next on the list at 11am. Thursday-Said part still not looked at. Unhappy farmer, completely frustrated farmer's wife. Off to farm to pick up something else. Then to Yorkton to pick up said part. Then to Regina with said part. Run around to do shopping needed. Meet up with Aunti N and Cuz R for Gwyn to get a play in and a visit. Stayed over with Aunti N and Cuz R. Friday- Pick up missed/added things from Thursday. Take off home. LOL no wonder I am tired!!! Not to mention. Said place in Yorkton... may just get a letter. I was completely appalled with their service. Don't get me wrong, I understand busy, but if your busy, tell me! Don't be a dink. Sickly poor service. Though... the fabulous place in Regina, Much much nicer experience. Just to see if they deliver what they promise now. I hope so, I sure like the Regina place better than Yorkton's hands down and would rather drive there than Yorkton now. Ok. But, Just making myself mad so will get on with it!

On the needles. Still fishy fishy hat.. but it has come a long way... and is looking very cool!!! Might have to make a couple more! Shetland Border shawl, almost finished chart A! yay! might even finish chart A tonight! Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Next on the needles, Wendy's summer mystery Shawlette... maybe. Got my yarn and my needles so.. will see.

In my running today in Regina, Because I got an awesome early start!!! I got to stop at the Golden Willow on 13th ave(re:brown bag). Sharon is awesome! That shop is amazing. I love, love, love going in there. Yarn fumes and all. I picked up a couple skeins one of which I think I will make mystery shawl with. Not sure if it will be the plumish/burgandyish or the tan. Or if I will just have to make 2! LOL We shall see. I was thinking about those skeins of alpaca goodness since the last time I was at the Willow!!! So, I knew I had to get one.. and the second well.. just followed me home! LOL Now, that gorgeous purple, blue and green. Sharon is an enabler. But it is in her best interest. LOL She had a little hat she made out of it(different colourway) and had Gwyn try it on. It looked very nice :) Sharon showed me that yarn because it was new since I had been in last... and so.. I drooled on it.. then inspected it. I decided that 600m for $26.00 was not bad. And that the wool was soooo soft and squishy in goodness... I had to take it home!! LOL I was in love!!! My bad. But I shall make something lovely and good with it all... :) (because I have noticed I am becoming a yarn snob, I like the woolly goodness, and the naturally yummy yarns better and better all the time)

So, while in the Willow... I asked about drop spindles... Sharon, had Gwyn settled was going to show me how to get started. But Gwyn did not settle, so we had to leave. I told Sharon that maybe... Mom(Gwyn's grandma) could look after her and I could sneak over and Sharon could give me the goods on this spindle stuff next week. When I go back to pick up said part. I think that would be a super sweet deal!!! Anyhow, that was my yarn shop excitement.

I am darn well pooped right out. Too much driving and running. Gwyn was darn well pooped right out! Daddy came home for a quick visit over supper :) awesome! Nice to see that farmer that I do all this running for! LOL Then when he went to the farm and she was down right upset... she went to bed. I got a shower, and typing this, and a row on the Shetland. Think I am going to try for the next 3 then crawl off to bed... Lots to do.. got to pick up seed tomorrow afternoon. Don't get me wrong, that is an excellent thing!! I am just very happy to have seed in the ground! Now, lets hope that damn rain stays away!!!

So, I had a wise Auntie tell me once "Women who marry for money, EARN IT." She forgot to tell me "If you marry a farmer, your gonna do parts runs." LOL Maybe nobody ever told her that part... :)

This is a couple pics from yesterday. My happy girl as we were going to go to town, spend a gosh forsaken amount of time there then go see Daddy at the farm!!! Daddy of course.. being the total highlight!

We walked the mall. We had lunch in Zeller's(oh my, the waitress was great!! food was good. but glad Gwyn ate free!!!). We went for ice cream!! WE saw a train right up close!!! Everyone there on coffee row were sure it would scare Gwyn, but no tears.. and hollering toot toot after it and waving until I tucked her in the van...Gwyn did really well! I was impressed! Gwyn slept from Yorkton to Preeceville... then was awake to the farm. We had a good visit with Grandma. And of course we got to see Daddy. Daddy took her for her first tractor ride in the big 4 wheel drive! She loved it! Then we came home. And went to bed!! Long day! (we were out the door before 9am. and home at 10pm. Long enough day methinks!!)

Mommy needs yarn asked for pictures of out favorite knitting place. I don't know that I would call this a favorite. As I used to prefer my rocking chair, but with Gwyn around it is much easier and more practical to knit here at this desk. Notice there is a knitting bag to the left of the screen, and a knitting bag on the printer. LOL and a stack of patterns and misc. goods leaned against the printer. But, there it is.

So, might have to go back to town today.... bah... anyways... off and running.. catch ya later!

Gwyn is trying on the fishy hat... while I am still working on it.. Had to show this pic as I think it's too funny. She was quite content to wear it! LOL needles and all!!!

I finished Summer Flies. It is beautiful. I didn't think the variegation would turn out so well.. but it really did surprise me and did!

Now.. just to find a home for it.. and the Japanese garden shawl.. LOL

Busy week... I lost Monday somehow...

It has been one of those crazy weeks. We went to Yorkton on Monday. James to the farm on Tuesday, got a call he had to go back to Yorkton Weds. Thursday I went to Yorkton. Came home through P.ville and the farm. *shakes head* that alone makes for a long week. Add in James staying at the farm, rather than add an hour to his day driving. I would rather when he has worked a long day he not hit a deer on the way home because he was just too damn tired to be on the road. But I don't know if I can take it. Gwyn misses her daddy!! And she is not a happy camper that he doesn't come home at night and see her for a second or two in the morning. He stayed at the farm Tuesday? hmmm.. Weds?.. anyway from one of those 2 days on. He was home tonight. Gwyn was happier than! James was smiling pretty darn good too.. missing his girl. Though I can bet he wasn't up crying til all hours of the night! This is why I don't know if I can do it... It's a challenge we shall say.... and I may have to call in reinforcements but, we will hold off until we know if we need them or not...

So, today we spent some time outside. Gwyn is dog gone tired, did not nap. Late night, up early... But enjoyed the time outside.

On the knitting front. I finished Summerflies. It is blocking.. I should be able to pull it off the cardboard and take some better pics tomorrow. See how the day goes.

I have a Shetland border shawl on the needles. It has to be knit on when Gwyn is sleeping.... reading a chart with what I think to be a bit of stitch variation and an active toddler don't mix. It has been sitting untouched for a couple days as with Daddy away she wouldn't sleep away from my body. So, for the sanity of mom, and the good of the Gwyn.. she napped on me, and I went to bed with her.

I also cast on my crazy fishy hat. I have lips and part of a head. I am really liking the way it is looking... might have to make a few more. But I will wait til I am done this one to say for sure!! Anyways, I am dead tired and it's late so will have to chatter on another time! Gnighty!

My Girl.....

Ok, She is 2. Until.. 4 days ago.. she pulled out anything I put in her hair. 4 days ago I put piggy tails, like you see pictured below in her hair. Then promptly before she could rip them out took her to the bathroom mirror so she could see them! She loves them! She left them in all day.. and has now 3 times left them all day!

Today we did finger painting!! Here are Gwyn's very first finger painted pictures!!

My faves are the first one which was her very first one, and this last one of her hands! Honestly I had to steal away the hand one before she totally covered it with paint... I love it! Thank You Grandma for the finger paints!! We had great fun!!

Shawl fever, is there such a thing?

As of the start of the Japanese Garden shawl.. which called and called and called to me. SO, I HAD to make it!!! Then, I started looking at other patterns for shawls. I love how Wendy D. Johnson does her patterns.. she does beautiful work. So I did purchase a few patterns, even better while she was having her "blogversary sale" Sweet deal! So, then once finished the Japanese Garden shawl, I started the Shetland border shawl, which, with a toddler is a challenge to keep your chart straight!! So yesterday I gave in and cast on Summer flies(not one of Wendy's). This one is a knit a long for Mommy needs yarn, a Ravelry group I am a part of. BTW. Japanese Garden was a knit a long for this same group :)

I am not so certain about the variegate.. I think the pattern gets lost in it. But this will tell me how much Patons Grace yarn it will take to make it. Now, Patons site says Grace is a double knit weight, but rav. says it's a sport... I think it looks ok.. but will know better when I am done if I am happy with how it blocks out.

Anyways.. that's some knitting for ya!! LOL Catch you later!

Last week was a mixed bag. We had warm weather we had coldish weather. We had rain, we had snow/sleet. It was a crazy week. Monday we did get outside. Gwyn blew bubbles with the bubble gun her grandma got her. She loves to blow bubbles.. and this just makes less mess than the wand when you have a 2 year old. Gwyn played in the sandbox. I had to take her in and change her bottom, and because she had not been interested in the mud. I did not put her splash pants back on. My first mistake... she went straight for the mud when she didn't have on her splash pants.

Gwyn let me put pigtails in. I put them high on her head so she would be able to see them. When I showed her in the mirror she gave that giant open mouth happy smile! She left them in all day. With the exception of one pulled out at J's birthdayday party. But I think it may have got caught and she had to yank to get free!

Ok, so, Maybe we all don't but I know, The Golden Willow Natural Fibre gives you your purchase in a paper bag. So, therefore, I carry yarn... and Addi knitting needles in a paper bag. I know there are others who carry other addictions in paper bags... but I prefer the yarn kind. Here are some pictures of the latest...

This yarn, Mom and Sharon picked out for a shawl for me. Mom delivered it when she and Dad came to visit. It also contained the correct size Addi turbo for the shawl I was working on!!!

This was my own purchase... Yummy blue wool!!

This is wonderful cotton blend, 2 pair of Addi's, stitch holders... and some neat looking Yarn needles... (not a hole for the eye but a loop.. looked like they would be awesome to thread).

Another blogger was photographing her Rhubarb. Thought I would toss this in.

The rhubarb is coming up nicely. Though I am a little concerned as James said that we are supposed to get a low of -6cel. yet this week... Can we not just get spring?? Oh, well.. if it's only one night, I hope the little plants about will survive it. Mind you.. any of them nasty biting bugs could get hit hard!!

I was away for a week and a half in the city. While in the city I did that yarn shopping. Other necessity shopping. We took Gwyn to a few different parks to play. She drew with sidewalk chalk all over grandma and grandpa's pavement. We took her swimming at the Sandra Schmirler Leisure Center. There is a fabulous toddler park there outside. Gwyn did a face plant the day we took her to the park outside. She was excited about the park and tripped on a landscape tie that was just sticking out of the ground enough to trip her. She landed flat on her face and her feet went way up... I could have swore that she was gonna be scraped and bloody from the fall... but they have this amazing recycled tired floor and she didn't have a scratch!! Awesome park for kiddles!!!! There is a library. And the pool we loved. So geared for kids. Though, Gwyn so wanted to go down the big slide.. just a little too big and scary yet. But she went down the toddler slide and the little kid slide and also did a tonne of jumping in the off the float/side of the pool. Wonderful fun.

Anyways I shall run, supper is on the go... and all that!

Gwynastics......

It's terrible. Every time I want to type gymnastics.. my brain spits out gwynastics.. LOL It's crazy. Today, Gwyn was the only one who showed for her gymnastics class. So, she got some one on one. I think she had lots of fun. No waiting her turn.. Just go go go... which is what she does best!! LOL

Gwyn did not nap today, and did not go to bed until.. 9pm. Crazy little gal. She will either sleep in tomorrow.. or be tired. I be hoping for the sleep in a little bit....

Here is what is on my needles. It's a Japanese Garden Shawl. I love the way it is working up!!

I also love the colours... I think it's very pretty, though not as bright as the picture makes it out to be, it is still very pretty!!!
