Salad spinner.... Turtles.... Outdoor fun??

Honking the horn on her salad spinner vehicle!!
So, on my blog stroll this morning, Scary Mommy was talking about her 6 year old son taking the salad spinner to school for show and tell. How he was fascinated by it! Made it into a potion mixer! And they had great fun with it! Such a simple not so little kitchen tool. Well this made me think of 2 days ago or so, Gwyn got my spinner.... It was her car, or boat.. not sure.. But she had some fun with it!!!

Current project. Yes, Crochet Turtle afghan. Very fun!!!

Wandering way out onto the neighbors yard. After mommy asked her to come to her..

Sinking in waist deep.

Climbing out and crawling to mom. Mom was not going to rescue her unless it was needed!

Playing in the mud hole. Just a small one so far... getting bigger every day!! Can you tell mommy just washed her coat??
We had great fun playing outside in the snow. Wandering around. Sinking in... working on her snowman. Watching daddy push snow with the truck and blade. Jumping and splashing in this mud puddle.... too bad I had just washed her coat.. LOL it is mud up the one side again now.. LOL and her mittens and socks.. I don't know if we should mention!! LOL She had fun! But was ready to come in for hot chocolate when we asked!!! :)

Some of you asked how my party went.. Well.. lets say it was pretty darn quiet.  It all worked out in the end though...

On and On about Gwyn... LOL.. AND FINISHED Socks!!!!

Was after the camera... so I took some pics.

Played right out!

Playing with the blankie on the bed!

Reading... well pushing the sound buttons.. but still.

Playing with her toys.

Makin' faces

Finished socks!!!!

YaY!!!
So yeah,  I finished the socks that almost made me nuts. I was not liking how the pattern was turning out...and feeling very frustrated with the amount of work I was putting into them.. following a pattern you can't commit to memory is hard with a 2 year old running around you.... But, I am rather happy with the finished product. I love, love the bind off I used.. It stretches soooo nice!!! And it looks super good!!

So, now the socks are done. I am off to work on the turtle affie!! Yay! The yarn I ordered from shopredheart.com was here in 10 days!!! from the states! Through customs!!! AWESOME! Anyways, I am excited to start that up.. then I have a bunch of other projects to get rolling...

Tomorrow, I am having a Jockey P2P(person to person) party. I am somewhat excited.. and somewhat I dunno. I invited a few, heard back from a couple... so, I guess I am nervous about how many will actually show. There! I said it! I don't want to waste this wonderful gals time.  So, I know of about 3 that will come....  I think. One for sure! *shrugs* wait and see I guess!!

OOH!!! Wendy Knits is selling a beautiful shawl pattern for $5.00US. She is putting all the money she makes on it into the red cross for relief for Japan. Those folks sure need it!  I bought the pattern.. and can't wait to get some yarn to start it!!! But, one thing at a time!!!

Pictorial Catch up...

We had a day that the temperature wasn't all that cold, but the wind had a nip. We walked up to the post office and Co-Op. I figured if I could take it without a scarf... Gwyn should do well all bundled up.. so off we went.. when we got back we had some playtime in the back yard.
Mom, get the mail and lets get out of here!!!
Playing with snow in the back yard.
Have some snow mom!
Adventuring around the block.

Just tromping along...
When we got to the corner, she looked up and saw her little friends house.. and so wanted to go play. I had to tell her, her friend was under the weather and couldn't play today. It was the truth, plus it was late in the day for tea.. getting too close to supper time.

Grandma gave her a backpack... she loves it!!

The marshmallow monster! She loves them!
Num, num. num....
Gwyn's wonderful daddy, dug out her swing! So it was +1 cel. yesterday, so we went out and had some playtime and a good swing.... twice!!

Wanted to sneak over and visit her friend again...
Daddy pushing her in her swing. (round 2)
I love these sheets mommy, don't take them to wash!!!
Maybe if I curl up in them and have a sleep....
Yarn! From Shopredheart.com!! 9 business days to Canada from the states! Very very impressed!!
Yarn for the turtle afghan I am making for Auntie N.  I found the royal blue and green here in Zeller's. The variegated and light blue had to be ordered!! Love them!!! Can't wait to get going on that!
Red Heart and Soul Yarn.  it is sooo soft! And it is infused with aloe! I am excited to give it a go!!

So that is our excitement.  Was a beautiful day yesterday. Gwyn got out to play on her swing set. I got a package of yarn. We went out to the farm and had supper with that Grandma and grandpa! James loaded up some grain and off it went.

Today.. Gwyn was playing in the pink sheets. She is a little under the weather... Not feeling 100% but not showing a whole lot of signs of sick either. Just maybe a bit worn down.. her temp is up a whole degree.. but keeping my eye on her and she seems to just be taking it easy!

Off and running....

Goings ons

I made Gwyn a little tent this morning.....

Peeping out...

Hidden in...
Popping up with a beautiful smile!
Getting ready... ready... ready...
Poof.....
Another mom's blog a bit back had pics of her little gals funny faces.... here are a couple of Gwyn's and no.. they are not  necessarily funny.. but they are kinda funny to me!
Mad ish, wish I had gotten her scowl, this is close!
Not impressed. I must have mentioned putting away the play doh....
This one, I think must be her mischief face. As we ended up with all 3 containers of Play doh.

Gwyn enjoying playing with Play doh :)
Mixed colour!

Sock progress...

These socks are taking a long time....but, slowly and surely I guess they are getting there....
